'Quality of life Workshops', yes that is what the corporates call it.
When the L&D team approaches us for such workshops, it is a challenge. Quality-of-life workshops are a challenge.
Quality of life is subjective. For every person quality of life differs. For some, it could be
1. Having luxury cars and gadgets.
2. Getting a good education and certifications.
3. Having big houses or second homes (3 or 4 BHK or penthouse).
4. Earning money and becoming rich.
5. Having own business or trading.
6. Travel the world, and explore places, cultures, and food.
7. Networking and social life.
8. Workaholic.
9. Having a hobby - music, art, gardening.
10. Health and fitness (gym, yoga, run, walk, sports).
11. Volunteering, working for an NGO.
12. Spending time with family.
13. Meditation, going for retreats.
14. Having peace of mind and solitude.
In all these, how will the corporates define what is the quality of life? How will they arrive at one or two aspects that when incorporated into the company will enhance the quality of life of people?
Hence shared vision and operational definition of quality of life plays an important role in corporates. This needs to be articulated.Â
Quality of life means having joy and purpose in your life.
With gratitudeÂ
