Namaste
It is amazing to see how superheroes are homegrown leaders. In our workshops and training, we use case studies of key learning from movies. One such movie is 'Superman'.
With changing scenarios, a lot has changed in the movie 'Superman' (2025), key learnings:
1. 'I don't take selfies', this dialogue shows the focus and the distance one has from the mobile. Everyone in the movie is shown using social media, but Superman chooses to stay away.
2. His dog 'Krypto' has his take of being bad, barking at the cows, not listening to Superman's instructions, being bad at times, being more than helpful in his own way, a savior, and much more. This shows that no matter how good, bad, or ugly one's teammates are never leave him. Do care for them.
3. Superman clearly defines the symbol 'S', "It's not an S on my chest. In my world, it means hope".
4. Superman's foster father says, "Your choices, Clark. Your actions. That's what makes you who you are". This shows that no matter where and to whom you are born, it is all about the choices one make. And we always have a choice.
5. "I don't need your help. I'm goddamn Mister Terrific," says Terrific, a character in the movie. It shows that you know your job and dare anyone to challenge you.
6. Luther says to Superman, "I'm aware envy consumes my every waking moment". Being aware and still feeling envious speaks volumes about what envy can do to a human being.
7. In the end, when Clark says, "I'm as human as anyone. I love, I get scared. I wake up every morning and, despite not knowing what to do, I put one foot in front of the other and I try to make the best choices I can. I screw up all the time, but that is being human. And that's my greatest strength."
This sums up the entire thing of being human, yet choosing good over evil, and the ability to have compassion.
